What it is
FosterConnect is a web-based platform that helps foster families document their caregiving work and share critical information with their child’s case team. It’s designed to be simple enough for everyday use and structured enough to actually matter when decisions are being made.
The platform has two sides: a Foster Parent Portal for documenting daily care, and an Agency Portal that gives social workers dashboard visibility and urgent notification workflows.
FosterConnect is a documentation and advocacy tool — not a clinical system or electronic medical record. It empowers foster parents to organize and share health-related information with providers and decision-makers, but it does not replace medical records maintained by healthcare professionals.
What we’re building toward
The current development focus is on core documentation and notification workflows. Future capabilities will expand coordination features between foster families, caseworkers, and child welfare teams.
We’re building for the Ohio market first, with an eye toward the compliance and data standards that govern child welfare information systems at the federal level. Our architecture is designed to meet HIPAA technical safeguards and align with CCWIS data practices from day one.
When can I use it?
FosterConnect is in active development. We’re working toward a pilot launch with a small group of foster families and agencies before opening access more broadly.
